Cossacks 2 Review
And it works. But in the mass scenes during the game, when too many units are on the screen, the game became too slowly, so VMWARE is useful as a last resort. Well im on windows 7 and it still does not work. Theres a ton of others that still has this prob. I have an ordinary PC with Windows7 x64.
Videocard is ATI HD5450. I bought the steam version of the game here and have no problems with running it. No patches or something similar were used. If you can't play, I think, the only way to play for you - to play Cossacks under VMWARE. On my PC all traditional CD-versions of COSSACKS 2 (napoleonic wars and battle for europe) doesn't work, but the STEAM version work WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. But I also have a Samsung NF110 Netbook with windows 7 installed (all drivers and directx are properly installed), it has a discrete videocard on Intel GMA3150 chip, and on this system, neither Standard CD version of Cossacks 2, nor the Steam version of Cossacks 2 doesn't start, unfortunately. (And many other modern games also doesn,t work on this) So the type of your videocard is also very important.

Yeah, I found some info on Official forum of this game manufacturer They wrote, that the game cannot run on Intel or SiS/VIA integrated video chipset.

Windows Security Patch Windows 7
There are suggestions that this game has issues with 'modern' high end graphics cards, and possibly with 'integrated' graphics (possibly due to no dedicated VRAM? To get you started.Try the options in the last two post -Or maybe more complicated fix? - If you are using the disk based version of the game the problem may be due to StarForce copy protection. '05 was a bad year for StarForce.
Some versions of StarForce from '05 will not recognise 64bit Windows. This blocks the game from loading. In this instance a noCD fix/hack is the only was to run the game, if using 64 bit Windows.
